Jim Hawkins is on his search for the buried treasure of the infamous pirate Captain Flint. Jim's parents run an inn called "The Admiral Benbow". A one-legged stranger named Billy Bones arrives to rent a room at the inn.

Days later a blind beggar called "Blind Pew" arrives and gives Billy Bones the Black Spot - a mark of death. Billy collapses and dies after Blind Pew leaves. Jim finds a map in Billy's sea chest just before Blind Pew returns with a group of evil pirates who ransack The Admiral Benbow in search of the map. Soldiers arrive and the pirates flee, but Blind Pew is trampled to detach by some of the soldier's horses.

The rest of the tale is about Jim's search for the treasure on the ship Hispaniola where the cook is a one legged man name Long John Silver whom everyone seems to admire. Jim and Long John end up fighting pirates and running into dangerous situations in Robert Louis Stevenson's masterpiece - Treasure Island.
